If your priorities involve side-by-side double strollers that are narrow enough to help you go anywhere you’d be able to with a single or tandem stroller while still offering you full stroller functionality, you’re looking for the 2015 Mountain Buggy Duet double stroller.

At 25″ wide, it can go anywhere a single stroller can while offering far more functionality than even the most versatile single stroller. It also can fold up to take up less space than many single strollers and the vast majority of double strollers out there. And despite its narrowness, the under seat storage basket is still large enough to store a good number of supplies, although you can also use one of the seats for storage with the available shopping bag accessories.

We love the Mountain Buggy Duet because you can match it to up to two Mountain Buggy carrycots, which are MB’s bassinets, keeping your newborn or newborns safely packaged while lying flat. The MB Duet is also compatible with a wide range of regular infant car seats and includes 10″ air-filled tires that keep you going when the sidewalk ends. You can hold two children who weigh up to 80 pounds and who are up to around 44″ in height. If you only buy one stroller on this list, make it the Mountain Buggy Duet. Best all-terrain double stroller compatible with bassinets

It’s no secret that we’re fans of the Bumbleride Indie Twin, and for good reason: when it comes to a versatile, go-anywhere double all-terrain stroller, it’s at the top of our list. The Indie Twin is also one of the few double strollers out there compatible with but not one, but two bassinets at the same time.

When you buy the Indie Twin, you can travel anywhere over its 12″ air-filled wheels, rear-suspension, and parent-friendly adjustable handle bar and generous storage compartments. It pushes easily and simply oozes luxury, style, and practicality. It’s 29.5″ wide and can support two 45-pound children for a combined weight of 90 pounds. The Carrycot can carry infants up to 19 pounds and includes its own canopy, gentle mattress pads, and zip-on covers.

Best double stroller with built-in included bassinets

Perhaps the most unique double stroller on this list is one that includes the bassinets from the start, and that even allows you to convert them from bassinets into regular rear- and forward-facing seats for your children: the Valco Baby Spark Duo Stroller.

We love the Valco Baby Spark Duo because it allows you to do something that virtually no other stroller on the market does, and because it already comes with bassinets, which saves you several hundred dollars if you absolutely need a stroller to have them.

It weighs 34 pounds, is only 29.5″ wide, and can support up to 120 pounds in children, with two 40 pound children in each seat and a 40 pound child behind the stroller (called the “hitchhiker” by Valco Baby). It features 8″ front and 10″ rear tires and of course a full recline in the bassinet seats. If you’re interested in being able to run when your little ones are older or are keen to get back into shape after baby, you’ll want to take a close look at the  Baby Jogger Summit X3 Double. We haven’t found a better double jogging stroller yet that comes with a bassinet option and that’s smooth enough to run with without waking up infants.

You can use it with Baby Jogger’s Compact Pram or Deluxe Pram, which we prefer, to keep your little travelers safe and snug, as well as fully reclined, until they reach 25 pounds. After the bassinet stage, each seat in the Summit X3 Double can carry a child who weighs up to 50 pounds. And thanks to the huge air-filled wheels, you can go anywhere you set your mind to.

Best tandem / inline double stroller that lets you use bassinets

Finally, even though we’re most fans of side-by-side double strollers, we would be remiss if we didn’t include the most popular high-end tandem double stroller that’s compatible with a bassinet: the Baby Jogger City Select.

Because it’s a tandem stroller, you can’t use two bassinets with it at the same time, but you can do just about anything else with it, including 16 unique seating combinations according to Baby Jogger, ranging from two infant car seats to a single seat and a bassinet.

The City Select has a 45 pound weight capacity in each seat, which means that you can use it with two children throughout the years in which you’ll need a stroller. And with 8-inch front wheels and 12-inch rear-wheels, you’re going to get a lot of mileage on and off the beaten path with the City Select.
